My client is one of the leading MSP’s in the field of Life Science and Pharmaceutical enterprise IT support. With offices in some of the leading scientific hubs in the country my client is has a great opportunity for someone who is ready to move to a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer role.

Ideally you will be someone with considerable experience as a 1st Line IT Support Engineer and you feel that you are now ready to move into a 2nd Line role.

Working with my client you will not only help your L1 colleagues to deliver great support, but you will also have a major part to play in exciting and interesting challenges:

  • Taking full advantage of the opportunities of the Microsoft stack

Ideally suitable candidates will already have MSP experience but we can consider candidates with if they can offer other relevant experience.

The scope of the role includes:

  • Troubleshoot and fix incidents as required, ensuring they are resolved within customer service level agreements or against key performance indicators
  • Special responsibility for providing guidance on security risks and improvements.
  • Assist with designing and proposing solutions to clients.

The successful candidate will be working with and therefore needs to show us that they have experience of:

  • Microsoft / Office 365
  • IT security solutions (MFA, Encryption, Email security) including the Microsoft security stack.
  • Setting up routers, firewalls and switches
  • Managing backups, local and cloud
  • Microsoft Intune

  • Enthusiasm.
  • Clean and professional image – we must not only perform professionally but also be professional in attitude, appearance and the way we act, in order to stand above the competition. Smart dress standard is essential, clean personal hygiene and appearance.
  • The ability to communicate clearly. Comfortable speaking to clients. Great written skills, able to produce written submissions which could go straight to the client.
  • Demonstrates experience in creation and maintenance of documentation.
  • Owns a problem, recognises that customer satisfaction is key to getting paid.

Working Hours.

  • Full Time 40 hours per week.
  • Shift rota basis, covering 8am until 6pm.

Candidates should have access to their own car and license for customer site visits

The role is office based (Manchester or Cheshire) however the client is able to consider flexible rotation between home and office.
